At the beginning of November, I had the opportunity to spend a couple of hours with the little angels part of the CONTRAPUNCT SINGING GROUP in Bucharest. Contrapuct Singing Group is a personal initiative of Brenda Petre, an artist in Romania who dedicates her life to bring fourth the talented spirit of Romanian children.
I asked the children questions like: ‘Why is important to take care of Nature?’ ‘How do you feel when you are in Nature?’ ‘What message to you have for the U.N. representatives?’ ‘How was it to have participated in such an event?’
At the end, I was delighted to hear them playing ‘HEAL THE WORLD,’ adapted in Romanian and English. These little angels could convey so much love and purity in their voices that I had tears in my years.
The experience astounded me with the children’s sense of depth, wisdom and love of nature, and their clear sight of what is beneficial for the world, and what actions will bring harmony with nature. I believe that truly our children are bringing in new awareness and consciousness to this world. What an amazing journey. And it is our responsabilty for our children to bring healing to our relationship with nature, in order to leave for them a sustainable, just and thriving world. As an indiginous prover says:
I am reminded of the words of King Michael of Romania who turned 90 years old in the Fall of 2011:
‘Our world is not a society that we inherited from our ancestors, but a society that we borrowed from our children’
